Having previously written on a part-time basis for The CV Centre between 2004 and 2006, Claire was delighted in 2020 to be offered the opportunity to write full-time for the James Innes Group. Claire draws on extensive professional knowledge from the fields of Human Resources, law, and language to work with clients around the world, and to support them to achieve their career objectives.
Music is one of Claire's life-long loves. Classically trained on the piano, she has played in various settings over the years, including serving as cocktail pianist at the Old Course Hotel in St Andrews while a student, and playing for the International Confederation of Midwives' world congress in 2008. She now serves as accompanist for the local community choir. Other personal interests include art, architecture and social history, and she is a passionate advocate for zero waste and a plastic-free lifestyle.

My experience was marred by the advice at the outset before reaching Claire to take a bundle of 2 CVs. However, the 2nd CV was redundant and therefore a waste of money. Make the right decision for you and be clear about what you want or you may feel a little cheated. This was compounded by a hard sell of ATS optimization for a 'Limited Time Only'. Because of the bad advice at the outset I cannot trust that taking this service is worth it.
Paid for an extra CV based on their initial assessment of my varied roles, but this CV was barely different from the first one. A complete waste of money, in fact I feel ripped off as they did not understand my initial brief nor did the sales person take the time to try and understand the brief, she spoke at me, not to me simply telling me what their services were, it was not a discussion. One star goes to the fact that Writer Claire was very professional and tried to salvage the situation, failed but at least tried - it is just that this 2nd CV was entirely unnecessary given that it is not truly an additional different CV.

I used this service for help with a college personal statement. The process involved having a call with a writer who got to know you and ask questions to give them insight into what was needed. I took senior Cv writing package with cover letter and LinkedIn Profile package for 230 Euros. I was able to bargain 1 extra Cv for that money. My senior Cv write Ms Claire Brenan was absolutely brilliant and my Cv looks very good and organized. However
1. the entire process of getting the Cv is very impersonal and not correct at all. Before buying the package, the call was made my Ms Claire, but after buying the package when I asked her to call me, It came to my knowledge that the calls were chargeable and very expensive. Like they asked me Euro 40-50 for 15 mins call. That is absolutely outrageous and wasn’t told to me about. Thats like mis-selling. The contact with the CV writer is only by dropping messages on there online software, not even direct chat. They will reply once they see the messages.
2. The Cv writers of UK for sure (like 100%) don’t know the Irish Job market and what recruiters and consultants look for, the moment they open the CV. I wouldn’t advise Irish people to get the Cv made from UK people
3. I am still not getting interviews at all and my Cv is being rejected outrightly. I bought this expensive package because my CV was being rejected outrightly by all companies when I have 10 plus years of sales banking and Wealth Management experience, solid academic background and good progression in my career as compared to my friend with no or little experience and they all had jobs. Its not James Inn group or Ms Claire’s fault but there ATS optimization software is surely not a good one.
4. There was quite a delay in my final CVs.

Rachel provided a high quality service across CV, linked in and covering letter. Her questions in the initial phone call allowed me to get across the key points i wanted to come out in my CV and she provided good advise and feedback. The quality of the written documentation was excellent, showing she's really understood what what we'd discussed. She took on board feedback and we settled on the final CV within a couple of rounds of changes. My only negative feedback would be the timings. I'd agreed the express service within my price and although the initial draft was within the agreed timescale I had to wait for updated versions based on my feedback, the linked in and eventually the covering letter. It took in total 17 days despite generally providing feedback within a few hours to any questions and only having around 2-3 rounds of feedback.

She took the inititative to change the template in accordance with my experience and background, personally approached to my needs and gave me a lot of explanations and information which helped me to navigate (it is very important for me). 2 resume drafts were enough. The cover letter is very rich and editible. The Linkedin profile instructions contains a lot of necessary information. If to summarize alongside with receiving the requested documents, I received the necessary guidance and explanation which helped me to understand why, when, where :) The only uncomfortable side is you need little patience, since communication goes through email registration/passcode system in the portal of the company for transparency purposes and you can't communicate with writers personally and quickly via your own email for faster results. Now I think that it is good, since the writers need time to do their job as it is a creative process. I greatly reccommend James Innes Group for resume, cover letter and Linkedin profile writing and will cooperate with them in future with great pleasure.

It was a very professional and fascinating experience. Though I've worked for many years in senior finance positions, reviewed resumes and brought in people based on their personal letters and etc, for some reason I could not make my own resume look interesting (even to myself). They helped me understand how they bring out the best of a position and making it clear - the designs of the resumes are great - and they would mold together a profile based on your old resume, your reference letters and job postings that you are interested in.

Took long to get allocated a writer. There was no point in answering the questions of what you want, because I don't think anybody read it. First product was a template with zero professional services input on CV 're-write' the second one allocated was much better but the fact that I had to complain to actually get the services I paid for was rather disappointing to me. If you want a new CV template I would recommend, but beyond that I felt there was no real value for money in the offering. But rather they were very focused on selling the next additional thing instead of just providing the service, additional call, additional speed of delivery time. If a CV can not be written without these additional services then maybe don't sell such a bundle.

The cover letter my senior consultant, Claire, helped me put together means I am using a cover letter for the first time. I passed up on so many job postings which required a cover letter because I didn't really understand how to put it together and differentiate it from my CV. I have been given a good draft which is adaptable depending on exactly which job I am applying for and having this so well written means I am confidently applying for double the jobs now.
